"Innovation arises from necessity" is a well-known phrase that holds, especially in the case of True North Basecamp. The company was founded on the principles of family and adventure, stemming from a pivotal moment in September 2013. During a camping and biking trip with his son, Aiden, and some friends, founder Dan Jurek experienced a harsh and cold first night that sparked the creation of True North Basecamp.

There has to be a solution," Dan contemplated after the less-than-ideal camping experience. Committed to finding a better way, he searched for the perfect location to build custom lodging in the Cuyuna area. His persistence paid off when he stumbled upon forty acres of breathtaking, untamed land complete with scenic mine lakes and convenient access to the trail system. And so, the creation of True North Basecamp was realized.

Dan was an early adopter of the soft tail, and in his younger years, you could (try) to catch him riding a Huffy Mono-Shock around the streets of Coon Rapids, MN.
